Stop Rushing

7/13/2025

I see the waves of mortality
Foaming on the shore of my existence

Someday we are all going to die

This shell of flesh will perish
In between the threads of time

And I will be no more
Than a coil of smoke twirling beyond the universe

Why do we rush our lives
When we know how it’s going to end?

The reflection of our impermanence
Wanes on us

Yet we foolishly go through life
Believing in the rhythms of accumulation, materialism, and rivalry

We have allowed these worldly delusions
To dilute our lives

Until we become nothing more than
A cocoon of what could have been

I rather crawl through life like a tortoise,
Slow and steady

So that when the time comes
I won’t feel the need to look behind me
