It's All Inside

There’s a cavity inside of my soul

A cave that is isolated from the rest of the world
Everything seems to crawl in between the cracks

I hear pain’s footsteps, I smell anger’s breath
They can see me but I can’t see them

I don't know how I got here

The weight of my own body
Feels too heavy to carry sometimes

So I surrender, hoping that this sorrow will heal me
I can feel these emotions slithering down my spine

My eyes begin to open
A stream of sunlight breaks
In between the folds of darkness

I wake up and turn my head

How long have I been sitting here,
How long have I been asleep?
